As you have probably noticed, as a contributor, every post must be approved by an admin on this site. You also do not have the ability to edit your own posts. If you would like to post without having to wait for approval, edit your own posts, and a couple other features, just follow the guidelines and you will eventually get promoted to an official author!

• Rule number 1: We hate fixing mistakes in your posts. If we have to edit your posts every single time you make one, you will never become an author as long as you fail to follow basic guidelines. We constantly have to tag and categorize people’s posts ourselves. That is annoying, and will gain the given contributor no trust whatsoever.
• Put tags in every post, and categorize them. This will help DigiMantis appear in search engines more often, and make the site easier for other to navigate.
• Grammar doesn’t have to be perfect, but at least put a little effort into it. Also, don’t mispell everything. If there is a typo, we have spell check there for a reason.
• Simply become active. Comment, make posts, promote us, whatever you can.
• Make insightful, well organized posts. Nobody likes to follow one big massive wall of text.
• Make paragraphs with linebreaks! If there are no linebreaks, the frontpage will be flooded with the entire given user’s post, almost hiding everyone else’s post summaries. This is quite annoying to look at and even more annoying for an admin to have to fix.

That’s pretty much it. We hate editing your posts. If we don’t have to edit your posts, you will be promoted to author status.

How to get demoted back to contributor:

Break the above guidelines, and receive 3 warnings from an admin about your post. After the 3rd time, you are demoted.
