Just thought I’d show off something I made. This is a skin for the Nintendo DS to be used on either the Edge DS or CycloDS Evolution flash carts. This isn’t a post about flashcarts, so I will not go into epic detail about them. Flashcarts are often used for running homebrew games and apps that range from Moonshell (a music and video player for the DS) to even instant messaging clients, like BeUp. Backups can also be played on a flashcart. (we do not condone piracy)

But anyway, here is the skin below! Others may soon be available eventually.

So, as many of you may have noticed a couple of days ago, we had some server downtime, and I was LIVID because the responses to my support tickets were less than satisfactory.  Apparently, the server has been up this whole time, but myself and my brother kept getting blacklisted by their firewall!

This was due to mod_security in their Apache installation was treating Wordpress Update Post when there is an image in the post as a “SQL Injection Attack.” I got on the phone with them because I was sick and tired of not getting good responses to my support tickets, and they finally fixed the issue. I’ve decided to give them one more chance, but it’s contingent upon them making it right with me in terms of the hosting plan billing, so I will update later on the results. If you lose access to the site, document what you last did right before it happened, copy the error messages to Notepad or Word or something, and include the URL that it happened at. Take that information, and email it directly to KD0JEJ@gmail.com. I am also on Windows Live on that address, for anyone that wants to contact me.

Above all, DO NOT POST WITH AN IMAGE IN THE POST, or the host will block you. I’m trying to beat the snot out of them until they fix this stupid error… The emailing of logs to me should help us catch an issue in my host’s firewall module, because I’m SUPPOSED to be whitelisted. UPDATE: It looks like they fixed the Internal Server Error for the THIRD time, by disabling mod_security once again…

KD0JEJ UPDATE 1/31/2010 1027 Central: It’s not downtime, it’s the host’s Apache module and  firewall blocking the admins from updating posts.
Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Our host, Supernova has pissed us off a dozen or more times over the past couple of days and we are planning on switching hosts. We were offered some fairly good deals to make up for what we’ve lost, such as whitelisting, 100GB of transfer, etc..but no. That is just like covering a piece of trash up with sprinkles and thinking that everything’s fine. On behalf of KD0JEJ, I’m announcing that we will have a future series of things related to this issue, such as reviews, snippets, and the history of our experience with this company.

Having that said, any recommendations on good hosting services are welcome. We must switch ASAP. When we do switch services, we may be moving to a different URL. If we do, it will be digimantis.net instead of .com

We have rewritten our rules page, and implemented a ‘Posting Policy’. All users who contribute to us, please read it. These rules will apply to everyone from here on out. Click here to view the rules.

Well, first of all, the most obvious difference is the theme. I completely redesigned our theme, so that it’s easier to navigate, and easier on the eyes. What do you guys think? I love how it turned out Also, I plan on giving users a drop down menu so they can pick and choose which theme of DigiMantis to view. Having that said, if that plan goes through, I will create yet another theme.

As far as other changes, instead of a live chat based on IRC, we now have a live AJAX shoutbox. Our new shoutbox will refresh itself as messages are received from users, so you don’t have to refresh the page just to check if anyone replied. Good stuff right? Well, I’m not done.
