New Host and Domain Name
Yes, that’s right. Soon as we think up a domain name, we will no longer be using Supernova’s web hosting. Quite simply, they’re a pile of trash. Frequent visitors of DigiMantis will know this simply because of the constant/random down time, and being blocked from our site, including the admins! The problem can also possibly be with the domain name itself as well, or maybe even a combination of both. So as a my request to you, the readers and the members, throw in some input about a new domain name please.
We prefer to have some kind of relevance to our current name. Example: Neo Mantis, DigiNexus, etc. Unfortunately, while those names are good, they’re taken already. If you guys can’t think of anything like that, then at least help us think of a name that is relevant to the comment on our site, or the concepts; a community blog with emphasis on telling about geeky things!
We’re Not Dead
Hey everyone. Wrath here, just checking in to let all our readers know that we are not dead; just busy. If any of you would like to see new content, become part of our community and give us some! We have big plans for DigiMantis, but as of right now, things in both my life, and in KD0JEJ’s life are interfering a bit with our work on DM.
Also, just a simple idea I thought of was to make the Discussion category a little more open, and a bit more simple. By this, I mean having people posting topics on here, similar to the thread to a typical forum. Any thoughts on this? Post comments below and let us know.
Compaq CQ61-427sa Review
I’ve recently bought a Compaq CQ61-427SA from Ebuyer.com, this laptop features:
- AMD Athlon II Dual Core 2.1ghz processor
- ATI Radeon HD4200 mobility with 380mb dedicated and 2gb shared
- 4GB 800mhz RAM
- 320GB 7200rpm HDD
- Windows 7 Home Premium
- CD/DVD+RW Drive with Lightscribe
- 15.6″ HD LCD screen
- Webcam
- HDMI
- Altec Lansing speakers
- N Wireless
- Bluetooth
- SD Card Reader
This is a truly remarkable laptop for the price – £380 ($560). It runs absolutely perfectly, so smooth. It can render 1080p video with no sweat. I’ve been able to run Dreamweaver, Photoshop, WinAmp, MSN and opera at the same time with no hassle, and after effects with Winamp, MSN and opera is smooth too. It’s quite amazing how such a cheap laptop can do these heavy tasks.
