Latest Wrath Oskvro Releases
I’ll be using this post to keep everyone updated on whatever the latest album or single release is for Wrath Oskvro. I’ll start by saying I do own all of this music, so you do not have permission to use it in any way other than listening without my permission.
LATEST NEWS
Get ready folks. A new album is on the way. This time around, I will be resurrecting Twisted Identity from its grave, only it will be under the name of Wrath Oskvro. Same general style, though. This opus will be a blend of the following electronic genres: Terror EBM, Industrial, Trance, possibly Goa Trance. I’ll be taking influences from various artists including KMFDM, Hanzel Und Gretyl, Psyclon Nine, God Module, Amduscia, Felix Da Housecat, Nero, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Benny Benassi, etc. Be prepared for quite an eclectic collection of 12 tracks. Currently there is no set tracklist, or album title yet, but I will update everyone when the info is available. The first track, titled “Third Eye” is now available for download, for free. Unorthodox Methods for Musicians
Do any of you viewers use an unorthodox method of making music? Or do you at least know of these methods? I always thought that was the most creative and limitless way to make music, though I’m not particularly amazing at it myself, I do try every now and then. What I am referring to is Chiptune. Not only Chiptune however, but anything else. My good friend, ‘Meteorologist’ for example, composed an entire album using nothing but samples taken from cassette tapes, and it actually sounded pretty decent. Of course, there are also things such as sequencers/trackers that can be used on a PC, or trackers on retro game systems, like the original Game Boy, or a Commodore 64.
When I was first introduced to the genre of Chiptune, I was speechless. It’s just such an awesome way to make music, and can be combined with almost any genre out there if done right. Various examples of Chiptune artists (and also my favorites) include Anamanaguchi, Maru, Phlogiston, 8 Bit Weapon, Meteorologist (heh, hi Jeff), SabrePulse, Swampyboy, etc. I’ve also heard that Beck used elements of Chiptune in his music, but I’m not much of a listener of Beck, so I can’t confirm it. But yeah, I have made a couple of songs using the sequencer known as LSDJ on my DMG-01 Game Boy and it is definitely a fun time, and also kind of a twist for my music, as it’s something that not many would expect me to make. Buy a USB LSDJ cartridge and a DMG-01 for about 60 or 70 dollars, and you’ve got yourself a new instrument. There are also things such as Nano Loop, Nitro Tracker, and even ways of manipulating sound from a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. I just happen to use LSDJ. Some even go as far to use a modded Super Game Boy for the SNES, and that is actually quite an awesome idea. Here are a couple of pictures below. Read the rest of this entry »
