Sanctus Real – Say It Loud
I love this song. I figured I’d allow a peek into the kind of music I like.
In a Safe Place, Album Leaf – review
I’m currently listening to an album by the Album Leaf called “In a safe place”. This music is quite amazing actually, it’s what I like – Post Rock. You may have seen a previous review of mine on a Red Sparowes album. Again, if you don’t know what Post Rock is, it’s deep bass, violins, cellos, sometimes heavy guitar and melodic solos, piano, sometimes vocals and it for sure has a lot of emotion. This particular album features Jónsi, the vocalist from the Icelandic post rock band Sigur Rós, his high and smooth vocals are so unique, you wouldn’t find them in any other music.
This album is a compilation of 10 tracks, all different. My personal favourites are Over the Pond and Twenty Two Fourteen. It’s quite indescribable how much power Twenty Two Fourteen has, it doesn’t make me feel sad, but it has the power to make me feel like I want to cry, it’s odd. This music just makes me think about my life and how it is, just puts me in a weird mood where all I want to do is describe things and write. This bands music has been beautifully organised and structured, put together so perfectly and carefully, it’s just a sweet, sweet sound to my ears, a sound that could not be achieved with any other music. Others may describe this music as boring and lifeless, but to me it’s the complete opposite.
Aims
Aims. Aims are a good thing to have, but whether you have the motivation to achieve your aims, is the problem. Motivation is a rare thing in your standard person, if we’re honest, we can say that probably over 50% of people are very lazy. If you’re like me, you say you really want to do something – but never get around to doing it. I’ve got some aims for my life, and this year, that I’d love to achieve, but then as I said, whether I have the motivation to try and get these aims, is a different matter. There are things that can motivate us to achieve them, such as chocolate, coffee, people motivating us, telling us that we’re doing well and that we shouldn’t give up on life and people and go to our lonely computer desk for the rest of our teenage years, etc.
Famous people such as Hitler had aims, his aims not being the best of all aims… But, he achieved his aims (even if it was for the worse…) So, my aims for 2010 are: Read the rest of this entry »
[Announcement] Wrath Oskvro: The Fury
I just wanted to announce the writing of a new album by myself. This album has actually been a thought in my mind for quite a long time now. Infact, ever since I started making music, back when I was about 14. The title of this album will be called ‘The Fury’, as the title says. This will be my first full Metal project, and the first time I actually make an attempt to fully express myself to the world. A nice big middle finger, as I like to call it.
This project will contain 12 tracks, brand new artwork and promo pictures made by myself. Major influence in both lyrical content and music from bands such as Lamb Of God, The Black Dahlia Murder, Mors Principium Est, and Soilwork. This is going to be the most aggressive effort as a musical opus I’ve ever done. Be ready for a very intense piece, as I plan to make the entire concepts and quality of the album to the fullest. There aren’t many details I can release right now, but I am currently in the process of writing both the music and the lyrics for the album at the moment, alongside of other projects as well, like the THL soundtrack.
Best Audio Player Verdict
This is the second post in the series of the media player related subjects that I have been working on. The first, being “So many media players..” My interest in them is at its peak, so I decided to break it down a bit. This will be a post on my opinion about what the best media player for music is. Some of these players support video, but I will only cover the audio portion. Remember, this post is only my opinion! Below are the media players that I have tested.
I will cover a short summary of my thoughts, list the key features, and then the benchmark tests. In the benchmarks, things will be shown in the following order: Default Interface, RAM and CPU consumption while idle, Ram and CPU consumption while playing audio. Remember everyone, these are just my opinions. If you only trust your opinion alone, stop reading right now.
